As part of the NACDS RxIMPACT Pharmacy Tour program, staff members from newly-elected House Judiciary Committee Member Rep. Andy Biggs’ (R-AZ) office toured a Safeway pharmacy in Mesa, Ariz., this week. The pharmacy team spoke to Biggs about pharmacy’s efforts to help curb the nation’s opioid crisis and reviewed NACDS’ policy recommendations on the epidemic.

The team also discussed the vital role they play in offering accessible preventive healthcare services, such as medication therapy management and vaccinations. In addition, the team asked for support for provider status legislation, H.R. 592, which would expand the services pharmacists are able to provide, under state scope of practice laws.
