NACDS’ message to Congress and to the Trump Administration is clear: a win for the American people is ready for the taking. Congress has crafted pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) reforms that have strong support and that would confront PBM middleman tactics that inflate people’s drug costs, that shutter trusted pharmacies, and that make healthcare more remote and out-of-reach for Americans.
With this strong and broad support for PBM reform, new NACDS ads send this message strongly: “Call the Vote.”
The ads are well-timed, as the U.S. House of Representatives has included NACDS-backed Medicaid PBM reforms in its budget reconciliation bill. The U.S. Senate now is determining its path forward on budget reconciliation.
The ad titled “No Secret” demonstrates that Republicans and Democrats alike agree on the problems of PBM tactics, and on the solutions. You can watch it here:
Meanwhile, the ad titled “Fix the System” showcases the need for PBM reform to reduce Americans’ prescription drug prices, a centerpiece of President Trump’s campaign promises. Watch it here:
To further amplify the urgency of this issue, NACDS engaged with conservative voices who are speaking out to their audiences, highlighting how PBM reform lowers drug prices, defends pharmacies, and puts patients — not PBM middlemen — first.
President Trump told the truth:
— Laura Ingraham (@IngrahamAngle) May 22, 2025
“The middleman makes more money than the drug companies … There’s a middleman that nobody even knows who they are.”
These PBMs are bleeding the system dry—shuttering pharmacies and inflating drug prices.
Congress must act. PBM reform can’t wait.…
Thank you to the NACDS RxIMPACT grassroots advocates who weighed in with Congress during the U.S. House of Representatives’ consideration of the current legislation. In the coming days, NACDS will activate grassroots on PBM reform yet again and will need all members and advocates to do their part to stand up for PBM reform. Stay tuned!
