The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) announced today that the Alliance to End Hunger has joined as a national partner in NACDS’ “Nourish My Health” public health campaign.

Focusing on the accessibility of pharmacies and retail health, this ambitious initiative has been communicating the critical role that nutrition plays in preventing and managing diseases and supporting overall health and wellness. Nourish My Health seeks to reach millions of people across the country, focusing on regions with disproportionate risk of diet-related diseases. It encourages baseline health screening to understand disease risks; offers food guides and nutrition information; and aggregates convenient resources for finding and paying for nutritious food.

NACDS is executing the integrated campaign along with leading health organizations, including AARP, Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association®, the Food is Medicine Institute at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, March of Dimes, and now the Alliance to End Hunger.

“NACDS developed Nourish My Health to leverage pharmacies and retail health services to help build healthy communities by reducing nutrition insecurity. We are honored to welcome the Alliance to End Hunger to this campaign, which spotlighting addressable solutions to a pressing public health issue,” said NACDS President and CEO Steven C. Anderson.

“As a multi-faceted public health campaign, Nourish My Health brings awareness and momentum to the communities we strive to reach,” said Eric Mitchell, President of the Alliance to End Hunger. “This partnership of like-minded, national organizations is an effective way to harness support and mobilize resources to finally eliminate food and nutrition insecurity.”
