Southeastern Grocers LLC hosted an NACDS RxIMPACT pharmacy tour for Steven Cary, district director for newly-elected Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL), in St. Petersburg, Fla. The pharmacy team discussed the importance of pharmacist-provided services like medication therapy management, vaccinations, point-of-care testing, and, they said, “other ways we help our patients stay healthy.” The team also asked for support for H. R. 592/S. 109—the Pharmacy and Medically Underserved Areas Enhancement Act—which would allow pharmacists to provide services to underserved Medicare Part B beneficiaries, subject to state scope of practice laws.
