The NACDS Foundation today released a video highlighting the NACDS Foundation’s continued commitment to exploring new models of care, spearheading innovative research and public health initiatives, building partnerships, and expanding access to patient care in communities across the country.

Throughout 2020, the NACDS Foundation executed initiatives and research projects in alignment with the Foundation’s vision for public health and patient outcomes.

Research, educational, and philanthropic initiatives for the year included:

  • The expansion of Project Lifeline — a community partnership and research program initiated by the NACDS Foundation to address substance use disorder — into Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. To date, Project Lifeline’s Allegheny expansion has reached almost 500 patients.
  • A highly collaborative effort with the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy and the University of North Carolina Eshelman Institute for Innovation to advance medication management for vascular disease.
  • Two published manuscripts describing the NACDS Foundation-funded research project – “Addressing Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) Treatment Through a Collaborative Care Model With Community Pharmacies and a Health Department” – which received strong validation in a letter-to-the-editor from three physicians at the Mayo Clinic and Saint Vincent Hospital.
  • Five Faculty Scholars were selected to be a part of the Foundation’s community-based research mentorship program and have developed research concepts for implementation in 2021.

“Thanks to the tremendous support of our benefactors, the NACDS Foundation has been able to share its impact as a cultivator of innovative patient care research throughout this ongoing public health emergency,” said NACDS Foundation President Kathleen Jaeger. “We appreciate our sponsors’ generosity, and we look forward to continuing to spearhead research that has the potential to improve health outcomes and increase patient access to quality care in 2021.”

Sponsorship opportunities can be found on the NACDS Foundation website.
