San Diego – Kinney Drugs was honored for its political engagement during the Political Involvement Reception at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Total Store Expo this evening.

Mike Duteau, vice president of business development and strategic relations of KPH Healthcare Services – of which Kinney Drugs is a division – accepted the 2017 “Politically Engaged Pharmacy Award,” or PEP Award, on behalf of the company, in recognition of its exemplary leadership and participation in the NACDS Political Action Committee (NACDS-PAC). The award is presented to a company or individual who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the advancement of pharmacy through political engagement.

“Under the leadership of Craig Painter (executive chairman of the Board) and the team, Kinney Drugs over many years now has consistently shown that they understand the value of NACDS-PAC and its importance in our advocacy efforts. The support shown by Kinney Drugs has become automatic, signifying their unwavering commitment,” said NACDS Vice Chairman Mark Panzer, senior vice president of pharmacy, health and wellness for Albertsons Companies. The bipartisan NACDS-PAC supports federal congressional candidates who advance pro-patient and pro-pharmacy policies.
