Staff members representing the entire Idaho congressional delegation toured Albertson’s in Boise, Idaho yesterday. The pharmacy team said the tour went “extremely well” and that the staffers left the tour with a new appreciation of pharmacy and a promise to educate their representatives about the importance of pharmacist-administered medication therapy management.

NACDS RxIMPACT pharmacy tours are an excellent way to communicate the integral role pharmacy plays in communities across the country. Legislators and their staff members come away from the tours better informed about how pharmacists are key in providing face-to-face consultations with their constituents, which leads to better overall health outcomes.

Pictured in the photo, along with the Alberston’s pharmacy team, are Jennifer Beier, constituent services manager, for Sen. Mike Crapo (R-ID), a member of the Senate Finance Committee; Bev Jensen, constituent services representative for Sen. Jim Risch (R-ID); Lisa Anderson, constituent services director for Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID); and Julie Tensen, education outreach manager for Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID).
