Arlington, Va. – The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) announced that Peggy Noonan will speak during the Sunday Business Program at the 2018 NACDS Annual Meeting, which will be held April 21-24, in Palm Beach, Fla. As previously released, author and management educator Jim Collins will address the Tuesday Business Program during the conference.

Noonan’s Pulitzer-Prize-winning work as a columnist for The Wall Street Journal has been described by Forbes magazine as “principled, perceptive, persuasive, and patriotic.” This reputation is consistent with her highly regarded work as a special assistant and speechwriter to President Ronald Reagan, including her historic contributions to President Reagan’s leadership following the space shuttle Challenger disaster and his commemoration of the 40th anniversary of D-Day.

“I am looking forward to the Sunday Business Program and to welcoming Peggy Noonan to the NACDS Annual Meeting. NACDS members are going to really enjoy and benefit from a truly gifted professional who has written words and captured feelings that have shaped history,” said NACDS President and CEO Steven C. Anderson, IOM, CAE.

The Wall Street Journal has featured her weekly “Declarations” column since 2000. In bestowing the Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary in 2017, the selection committee credited Noonan “for rising to the moment with beautifully rendered columns that connected readers to the shared virtues of Americans during one of the nation’s most divisive political campaigns.”

Noonan also serves as a television political analyst and she has authored bestselling books on American politics, history and culture. Her most recent book, The Time of our Lives, released in November 2015, chronicles her career in journalism, the Reagan White House, and the political arena. She is one of ten historians and writers who contributed essays on the American presidency for the book Character Above All.

Among her extensive recognitions, the living recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor in 2010 selected Noonan for the Award for Media Excellence.
