On Tuesday, the pharmacy team at Rite Aid in Philadelphia hosted an NACDS RxIMPACT pharmacy tour for James Fitzpatrick, regional manager for Sen. Patrick Toomey (R-PA). The pharmacy manager, Lalena Belinksy, led the discussion with a focus on how important the one-on-one personal interactions between patients and pharmacists during medication therapy management contributes to reduced healthcare costs by increasing patient adherence.

The pharmacy team educated Fitzpatrick on an array of pharmacy services, including vaccinations, counseling sessions, medication review, management of chronic conditions and services to increase compliance. Each example served to illustrate the vital function pharmacy plays in making a difference in the lives of members of the community of all ages.
