Today in the conference room of NACDS headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, the association staff bagged 5,000 pounds of rice and beans for the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). The food will be distributed to AFAC families in the Arlington, Virginia area during the month of December in lead-up to the holiday season. AFAC distributes groceries to nearly 2,200 families every week; over 35 percent of the people they serve are children, and 30 percent are elderly individuals.
