The Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) received a donation of more than 1,900 cans of tuna as a result of NACDS’ staff holiday event on December 12, 2019.

NACDS staff donated the tuna and participated in a “canstruction” of the NACDS logo. The community-focused aspect of the staff holiday event reflects the spirit and work of NACDS members, who are engaged strongly in the communities they serve.

NACDS maintains a consistent relationship with AFAC and participates in events to assist in AFAC’s work throughout the year. AFAC’s mission is to “feed our neighbors in need by providing dignified access to nutritious supplemental groceries.” AFAC distributes groceries to over 2,400 families every week, and more than 35 percent of the people AFAC serves are children.
