The NACDS Foundation will present the Excellence in Patient Care Award to Janice L. Pringle, Ph.D., founder and director of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy Program Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU), and to Judy Rosser, executive director of Blair Drug and Alcohol Partnerships, on December 4, 2019.
The recipients of the NACDS Foundation’s Excellence in Patient Care Award will be honored on December 4, 2019, yet their story already has captured the attention of Altoona, Pa.’s CBS affiliate.
The TV station aired a story just one day after the NACDS Foundation announced the awardees: Janice L. Pringle, Ph.D., founder and director of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy Program Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU), and Judy Rosser, executive director of Blair Drug and Alcohol Partnerships.
Pringle and Rosser will receive their awards at the NACDS Foundation Dinner in New York City. They are being recognized for their work with Project Lifeline, a community partnership and research program in Blair County, Pennsylvania, initiated by the NACDS Foundation to address substance use disorder. The NACDS Foundation also has indicated the expansion of the opioid abuse prevention and treatment program to Pennsylvania’s Allegheny County. The vision is to provide the framework model that can make a positive impact across the nation.
