Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-FL) toured the Winn-Dixie in Juniper, Fla., on February 13. The pharmacy team went over key pharmacy legislative issues with the congressman, including medication therapy management, immunizations, health care reform and medication synchronization.
Rep. Murphy asked Terri Bonard, the pharmacy director, how many customers she knows, and Bonard said, “I know them all and even when I am off from work, I bump into them in restaurants and the mall!”
The congressmen toured the pharmacy for close to an hour and the team said they thought he left with a much better understanding of the daily, positive impact pharmacy has in the everyday lives of constituents.
