The battle against illegal online drug sellers got high profile exposure on the April 2 Dr. Oz television show, which featured shocking details about the dangerous global threat of counterfeit drug marketing through illegal websites. Oz said, “These drugs are designed to seem affordable, cheap and safe for you to take, but they’re not.” He added, “This is one of the most alarming shows I’ve ever done.”

One of Dr. Oz’s guests on the show, Dr. Roger Bate, author and drug safety expert, said the fake pills sold through illegal online pharmacies could contain ingredients like car paint, floor wax and rat droppings.
