Dr. Ben S. Bernanke, former chairman of the Federal Reserve, has recently been enjoying something of a media blitz surrounding his new book, The Courage to Act. However, participants at last year’s NACDS Total Store Expo in Boston got a chance to hear from Bernanke well in advance of his book’s release when he delivered keynote remarks during the Conference, outlining the challenges he faced guiding the country through one of the most serious financial crises in its history. Bernanke also revealed a special connection to pharmacy during his remarks—he is the son and grandson of pharmacists.
